Week 14

I'm grateful for this easy week.  All week it's just 3 miles.  Yesterday I went to the gym, and did 3 on the treadmill because I usually do Boot Camp on Monday's & Wednesdays after my runs.  Today it was absolutely gorgeous outside, so I loaded my daughter up in the jogger, and off I went.  I actually did a little over 3 miles, probably closer to 4 or just over, but I need the training.  It's perfect outside.  Tomorrow I will run on the treadmill at the gym, and then head to boot camp after wards.

Week 13

This was super busy week for me.  I was preparing for Fruita's Mike the Headless Chicken festival for the weekend, so I was working almost full time this week.  I did manage to get my runs in (barely), but I felt pretty good.  I went in Monday this week to get antibiotics from the doctor, because I just wasn't kicking whatever it was I had.  A successful week, but at the end of it I was super exhausted.

Week 12

I was still sick at the beginning of this week, but I still managed to get my miles in.  I was just thankful that it was an easy week with no really long miles.  I needed the shorter runs while I was recovering.

Week 11

This week, I did nothing.  I was so sick, and spent most of the time lying in bed, or on the couch.  What fun!

Week 10

This week started off with a gusto.  Due to time constrains I had to put my run in on the treadmill.  It was effective, but not compared to going outside where there is better training.  Though I recently read an article of a runner who won a marathon training entirely on a treadmill.  That will not be me, that's for sure.
Tuesday, I was able to catch a good run, and then head to a spin class.  Wednesday, I ran 4 miles with our local running group.  I felt really great, and was amazed that I could keep up (somewhat)  toward the end, I got pretty slow, but I made it.  We walked for about 10 mins after the run.
Thursday:  I woke up this morning pretty sick.  I've got some nasty chest thing, I feel like crap (can I say that?), so no running today.  I hate it when our body gets the better of us.  Not sure if I will be running the rest of this week or not.  I may go into the doc tomorrow.  Until next week.  Priscilla you are truly an inspiration!
Week 9

This week was super stressful because of our move.    I was able to get outside a lot this week to get my runs in, and was even able to bike to work. I feel like I am behind when I read my run partners blog.  She is embracing this training with full gusto, and going above and beyond.  I am 100% committed, some days I get a 2 hour work out in, others I'm just getting my runs in, and that's all I have time for.  I am just going to keep taking it day by day, and stay focused on the goal at hand.  Slow and steady wins the race.  I find that training while pushing a 27lb 3 year old makes you stronger.  I am able to go without stopping though.  It was all in all a good week despite moving and having to work extra hours due to a weekend event.  I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to share with a wonderful friend who I once shared the gospel with.  That will make 2 unforgettable experiences we can share together.

Week 8

It looks like my foot pain has worked itself out.  When I first ran this week 2 miles, I could really feel it in my hips, and I think that was because I was limping around all weekend compensating for not being able to walk on both feet.  I took Monday off, to rest my foot an extra day.  It was a good move, because I was able to run my miles this week.  I still need to run 4 tomorrow, but I think it will work out fine.  This was a slow easy week for me with no fillers.  I just followed the plan, and I feel good.  My trend for working out seems to be working out really hard one week, then the next its easy week.  Its a good thing, that way I can avoid over training, at least until I reach the high miles later on.  I'm scared for that!  I need some positive thoughts my way.
